Health and Social Care Curriculum Intent 

In Health and Social Care, we want to build every student’s character so they are well rounded individuals who understand the potential positive and negative effects of factors on  their health and wellbeing.  Through a coherent programme of skills development, students will be able to identify  factors that affect their growth and development at different life stages.

This will give them  the right information to make positive and informed decisions for their life ahead.  Through exposure to different health and social care settings, we will expand their knowledge of the underlying systems which try and support the health and wellbeing of the  individuals who access them. 

Through imaginative use of role play, students will be able to make professional decisions  that would positively impact the health and wellbeing of individuals accessing social care  services.   Through challenging them to think about the key ethical questions which are presented by  making good life choices , we will encourage them to be responsible, caring and considered  individuals.
